WELCOME TO YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT SERVICES AT THE LGBTQ CENTER ORANGE COUNTY
The LGBTQ Center OC’s Youth and Young Adult Program offers comprehensive services and resources dedicated to empowering Orange County LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults ages 10-26. Through engaging in-group activities and community events, we offer the opportunity for program participants to meet other peers, receive mentorship, and develop a strong sense of identity, connection, and community involvement. Additionally, we encourage family support and involvement to build greater understanding and acceptance. By involving parents and families, we aim to strengthen supportive environments both at home and within the community.
Part of our program emphasizes youth leadership and community engagement, encouraging young people to take on active roles in advocacy and community-building initiatives. We provide opportunities for LGBTQIA+ youth to develop leadership skills through campaigns, educational workshops, mentorship, and community involvement. Youth are able to learn about organizing and create youth-led activities and events with support from Center staff. By encouraging youth to take on leadership roles, we help them build confidence and skills, and contribute meaningfully to creating a more inclusive and equitable Orange County.
Beyond our program, we have strong partnerships with over 50 Gender and Sexualities Alliances, Gay-Straight Alliances, and LGBTQIA-focused clubs across various schools in Orange County. We collaborate closely with student leaders, educators, and student support staff to ensure that LGBTQIA+ students have access to safe and affirming school environments. Each year, we work to expand our support, offering valuable resources, training, and guidance to youth, parents and families, teachers, and administrators. Our collective efforts are focused on fostering a more inclusive and accepting community where every student feels valued and supported.

You can contact her directly at stephanie.vandyke@lgbtqcenteroc.org. Alternatively, when you attend your first group meeting at the Center, you can easily complete an intake form to get started.
